What is psychosis?
I was finding it hard to distinguish between what everyone else said was reality and the bombardment of the voices. The voices were making it difficult to do anything. The TV was talking to me. People were following me and they could see inside my head and read my thoughts.
This is what psychosis can be like. But it is different for everyone. It can be very frightening. It can also be very hard to ignore. It can change what you think and the way that you feel. It can change the way you are with people.
You might hear voices that other people can't hear. You might believe things that don't make sense or can't be true. You might see, hear or smell things differently.
Some people feel confused. They may find it hard to pay attention to things. Some people can be very quiet. They may lack energy. Some people have mood swings. They can go from being very happy to being very sad in no time at all.
Don't forget, it is different for everyone. You may only have 2 or 3 of these feelings. Or you may have most of them.
